And the Beat Goes On heart transplant fundraiser will be held on Saturday, June 14 at the DoubleTree Hotel on Jefferson Road. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with a large raffle and silent auction. There will be a sit-down dinner (as opposed to a buffet the past 2 years) and 2 live bands for dancing. There will also be speakers including doctors from SMH. The tickets are $35 each. This year's theme is '100 heart transplants and still going Strong.'

The Seventh Annual Rochester River Run/Walk 5k fundraiser will be held on Saturday, August 16 at Genesee Valley Park. Pre-registration is $15 and $20 the day of the event. Prizes will be offered to runners in various age groups and to the top 2 pledge collectors. All proceed benefit the transplant program.

TAO Blanket Project Maria Fiorille started making blankets for transplant patients in memory of her mother, Sharon. Sharon was a two time liver recipient who passed away in January 2007. Maria had made her Mom a blanket during her stay at Strong, which she enjoyed so much they had to struggle to take it home and wash it! Maria purchased fleece fabric to tie the blankets together, and some quilted fabric that needs borders. TAO is helping to finish the blankets from the fabric purchased, placing the commemerative tag on the blankets, distributing the blankets at Strong to the transplant patients and funding any future blankets. We need your assistance in making blankets, donating materials or monetary donations. Knitted or crocheted blankets are welcomed also. Thank you!
