TAO Library-

The organization has a library of books/tapes available for members to borrow. The library will be available at meetings. If you have any items that you wish to donate to the library let us know.

In an attempt to update our database and send out information electronically, we are asking that any member of TAO who has an email address to send it to us.  We will keep them for TAO use only—we are hoping to use this information to send meeting notices and organ and tissue news.  We will investigate using a group mail list. TAO-Hornell Chapter

The Board of Directors of TAO is excited to announce the start of a new chapter of TAO in Hornell.  WE are fortunate to have existing TAO member Kim Woods offer her time and experience to lead this new group.  She is a donor family member and is a committed advocate for organ, eye and tissue donation.

Understandinng that many TAO members cannot make TAO's general membership meetings each month in Rochester, the Hornell Chapter will some of you the opportunity to attend meetings closer to home.  TAO-Hornell Chapter will provide the same support for transplant recipients, candidates, and their families, donor families; provide education and information on transplantation and related issues; and promote organ and tissue donation awareness.

TAO-Hornell Chapter meetings will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6pm.  Frequency of meetings will be determined by members.

TAO Blanket Project  Maria Fiorille started making blankets for transplant patients in memory of her mother, Sharon.  Sharon was a two time liver recipient who passed away in January 2007.  Maria had made her Mom a blanket during her stay at Strong, which she enjoyed so  much they had to struggle to take it home and wash it!  Maria purchased  fleece fabric to tie the blankets together, and some quilted fabric that needs borders.  TAO is helping to finish the blankets from the fabric purchased, placing the commemerative tag on the blankets, distributing the blankets at Strong to the transplant patients and funding any future blankets.  We need your assistance in making blankets, donating materials or monetary donations.  Knitted  or crocheted blankets are welcomed also.  Thank you!
